I’m Lauren, publisher of buddha and bananas. Welcome to my blog 🙂
I am committed to living a life focused on only things I love, and am on a journey to constantly live the fullest life possible.
Buddha and bananas is my journey of traveling far, thinking deep and living well.
But I wasn’t always living this way. How did I get here?
I graduated college in 2014 with a degree in marketing. I followed the conventional path of finding a marketing job in an office, working Monday to Friday, but I was miserable doing this. I went from different marketing jobs thinking a bigger pay check or better environment would fulfill me, but I couldn’t find joy in that lifestyle. I felt I was living out someone else’s dream and my own life was passing me by. To top it off, I made little effort to change my present state or create a future I was excited about. I felt deep inside I needed to be spending time focusing only on things I love and felt sick of “waiting for things to happen”. I did not want to become a victim of my circumstances, but instead make changes to live life how I desire. So things started to change, because I started to change. I began to seriously put energy and focus into shifting my perspective and priorities in order to create the life I want to live. I decided to practice what I preached and be the change. I left my 9-5 in October 2016 in an effort to live a life full of only things I love: travel, conscious living, nature, wellness and a few things in between.
My new mantra is to have a job that fits my lifestyle, not change my lifestyle to have a job.
I started this blog to combine my love of writing and discovering the power of living a full life. The discovery of how much power we have over the state of our lives transformed me forever. It’s not that hard to do once you try. Through this blog I hope to give you the resources and inspiration to optimize your life to live balanced and free. I believe we all have the power and privilege to live the life of our dreams, and I hope sharing my journey inspires you to start yours.
